Privacy

LovyDay doesn’t ask you to sign in. This page says what we collect, who receives it and how to reach us.

Your location

If you let LovyDay use your location, your browser uses it to work out distances. It isn’t sent to us and isn’t stored.

Visit counts

We count page visits and button taps without knowing who you are. If your browser sends Do Not Track, we don’t count you at all. Raw visit and tap records are kept for 12 months and then deleted.

Sharing

When you share an event, your phone or browser does the sharing.

We may record that you used the share sheet or copied a link or image; Email, WhatsApp and Facebook are plain links we don’t record.

Booking

Booking happens on the organiser’s website, under their own privacy policy.

The weekly email

If you subscribe to the weekly email, we collect:

  • Your email address, to send you the email. We email on Thursdays when there’s something on this weekend.
  • Your suburb, to choose the events near you.
  • Your children’s age bands (for example 0 to 2), if you choose them, to pick events that suit. We never ask for a name or a birthday.
  • Your interests, if you choose them, to pick events you may like.
  • A record of what we sent you, so the email never repeats an event.

The weekly email is a marketing email from LovyDay about events. We send it only to people who ask for it, and we don’t send anything else.

When you subscribe we also keep a record of your consent: the time, and which wording you agreed to. Each wording has a version number and we never edit a version: when the words change, they get a new number, so the record always points to the exact words you saw. Under the Spam Act we keep that record after you unsubscribe, as proof that you asked for the email.

Unsubscribing

Every email has an unsubscribe link. When you unsubscribe, we delete your email address, suburb, ages, interests and the log of what we sent you. We keep only the consent record described above. You can also write to the address below and we will do it for you.

How long we keep things

  • Subscriber details and the log of sent emails: until you unsubscribe, then deleted.
  • The consent record (time and wording): kept after you unsubscribe, as proof of consent.
  • If you press “Not you?” in a welcome email, a scrambled code made from the address (not the address itself) is kept for 30 days so the address can’t be signed up again, then deleted. A similar code is kept for 7 days to limit how many welcome emails one address gets, then deleted.
  • Raw visit and tap records: 12 months, then deleted.

Who receives your data

We don’t sell your data. These services handle it for us:

  • Resend, a company based in the United States, sends the weekly email for us. Your email address and the message may be handled on servers outside Australia, including in the United States.
  • The visit-counting service we use receives which page you visited (without any search text), where you came from, the kind of page and the suburb it is about, which buttons you tapped (for example a filter, a suburb you picked or the booking button), and the usual details your browser sends, such as its type. It never receives your name, your email address or anything you type.
  • Cloudflare hosts the site. Cloudflare also stores the subscriber details.
  • Google Search Console tells us how the site appears in Google Search. It measures search only and receives no personal data from us.
